Top 5 Communication Apps on Android in Turkey for Q3 2021

The third quarter of 2021 saw noteworthy performances from the top 5 communication apps on the Android platform in Turkey. Here’s a detailed look at their trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Getcontact experienced a significant rise in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $0.6K at the end of June and peaking at around $8.4K in the week of September 20. Downloads, however, showed a downward trend from 510K in late June to about 82K by the end of September. Active users also saw a decline from 394K to 235K over the same period.

Snapchat maintained a consistent presence in Turkey. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, with a peak of 183K in mid-July and then settling at around 112K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 9.6M throughout the quarter.

For WhatsApp Messenger, downloads saw minor fluctuations, peaking at 140K in late August and decreasing to 111K by the end of September. Active users showed a steady increase, from 33.8M in late June to approximately 35.3M by the end of September.

Telegram exhibited stable download numbers, ranging from 79K to 115K weekly. Active users saw a slight dip initially but stabilized around 7.2M towards the end of September.

Azar: Video Chat & Meet People observed fluctuations in weekly revenue, starting at about $114K and ending at $112K. Downloads varied between 65K and 80K, while active users remained consistent, around 570K by the end of the quarter.
